ECO Canada (Environmental Careers Organization) is hosting its first ever video contest for High school students across Canada. Students from grades 9-12 are invited to create their own short video showcasing a current environmental issue in their community and profiling the professionals working to eliminate the problem.
Contestants will have the chance to win $2000 to make their schools more sustainable. A total of five prizes will be presented to the students who create the most outstanding video in their region.
To qualify, teams must have a staff team sponsor from a Canadian high school and register by December 15, 2009. All teams will then have until April 1, 2010 to create their masterpiece, only one team per school may enter the contest.
The contest is one of many initiatives ECO Canada has taken on in the past year to encouraging students to further their passion for the environment through education. For more information about ECO Canada’s Career awareness strategy or to register visit
