Xishuangbanna, southwest of the border areas of environmental education for ethnic minorities
Project Description
Summary of activity at the state schools to train young volunteers the backbone of society through the volunteers to carry out a wide range of peer education, the focus will be covered by the ethnic minority in Xishuangbanna mountain. To "know, sharing, caring" for the foundation to carry out peer education.
Background of ethnic minorities is relatively low level of education, usually after graduating from middle school to the home of the mountain farming. Xishuangbanna in Yunnan, the beauty of this land, the seemingly tranquil tropical rain forest in Xishuangbanna, the interpretation at any time at the People's Armed Police officers and soldiers and the illegal hunting of forest the game. Liu Yu as the only one in Xishuangbanna, a small Chinese national reporter, a national small-writer, many times the support of co-ordination and reporting related to the forest in Xishuangbanna, People's Armed Police Battalion to protect wildlife documentary. To keep a wild animal blood terrible figure, once again to the border areas of the signal sent blood.

The main activities and a detailed work plan and timetable in June 2009:
Volunteers are the mountains to the depth and usually contact or hunting wild animals to carry out peer education. A continuous three days time, from a total of 3 times, after the collation of Education Project Report and Score.
Staff volunteers to participate in ten people in Xishuangbanna, Xishuangbanna counties and one city of the mountain villagers of ethnic minorities and the Young People team,
Expected outputs so that young people of ethnic minorities in border areas in the protection of wild animals to protect themselves and the protection of wild animals must have a sense of the level of margin improvement, and tell them about the country related to wildlife protection laws and regulations, or indirectly advised to give up hunting advice those who give up the hunt.

My hometown-Xishuangbanna,china

Located in the south-west tip of Yunnan province, in south-west of China, Xishuangbanna Biosphere Reserve borders Laos to the east and Myanmar to the west (Mekong region or upper Mekong basin). Currently, it comprises the largest and most comprehensive tropical forest in China. Due to its unique geographic and climate aspect, it contains the richest biodiversity in China. Although the area occupies less than 1/5,000,000 of China, it comprises 4,000 vascular plant species, 102 mammal species, 400 bird species, 63 reptile species, 38 amphibian species and 100 fish species. Besides, more than 90% of China wild elephant population is living in this region.
