Im just going to use my project report for this year here so u know how much we have been upto.
“Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.” said Charles Haas. In a materialistic world that that consumes with greed, such a quote has become true instead of just being a joke in our conversations. as Albert Einstein said in the year 1950 “ A human being is part of the whole, called by us "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.”
Following this The Green Club was formed in Cathedral P.U college as an initiative to spread and to gain awareness and respect, about and towards the environment. “I'm not an environmentalist. I'm an Earth warrior.” said Darryl Cherney, quoted in Smithsonian, April 1990 and in the same way an army of earth warriors was formed on19.6.09.
we had an "introduction" class on the 8th of july. This class helped the students get an idea of the what and the hows of environmental issues.
The students knowledge on environmental issues were tested by games such as the "Visual Game" on the 15th of July and "sketches" on the 22nd of July.
On the 24th of July we went on a trekking trip to Turahalli. After the trip we had to write an essay on trekking.
On the 8th of august we played a game canned "odds".this was to create a sense of environmental awareness among us.the flower show was on the 11th of August. It was quite an exhilarating event, one that cannot be described in words. You have to be there to actually enjoy the experience. We saw flowers of every hue and shape.
On the 31st of August we conducted the"Green Day"in college. It was quit a success. The whole college had arrive on that day in green. We had decorated the college with placards ,banners and posters with slogans, messages and Bible verses which were relevant to the environment. We also had a display of common medicinal plants and their botanical names.
We played a game called "fruit salad"on the 2nd of September. It was a rather a fun game and got all of the members involved in the game.On the 7th of September we had a debate on the topic"Mobiles on Campus".We came to the conclusion that mobiles can be carried be handed to our lecturers.
On the 14th of October we had a food fest to raise funds for those affected by the flood. We had a variety of food and some games too.
On the 21st of October we went to PFA(people for animals),Kengeri. This is an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre and an animal hospital. This centre rescues orphaned, sick, and injured wildlife.
