What's a Service-Learning Project?
A
service-learning project is a fun and effective way to combine
knowledge and action. You can help your local environment,
wildlife, and community while learning a whole lot. And you'll have
fun. Your project may count as community service credit in your
high school, and it looks great on your college or job application.
Plus, you may qualify for a number of different awards. You
can do it! And we can help. Check out
some of the teen projects that have already been done. Yours
could be next.
After you decide on a topic, put your creative energies to work by designing an action plan, an outline or description of your service-learning project that you use as a guide to carry out the project.
If you want help deciding what you want your project to be, check out our interactive guide, Choosing a Conservation Project, or click the links below to see a few examples. You can use one of those listed, modify an idea, combine several ideas, or come up with a brand new one of your own. There are so many possibilities – be creative!
