How To Blog

Blogging is a great way to connect with other people on T4PE.

If you like talking on the phone, texting or emailing, you probably also like blogging. Ask a question, offer a comment or advice, or just talk about what you're doing to save the planet.

To get started, just scroll down on the home page or your profile page to where you see Add a Blog Post. Click it, give your blog entry a title ("My Environmentally Friendly Lunch". Okay, no judgments. It's just an example.), then just type your entry below. "Today I had pinto beans that I brought in a reusable container and an apple I bought at the local farmer's market." (Seriously, no judgments. Sometimes T4PE doesn't have the most interesting of days.) You can make the entry private, viewable to your friends only, or to everyone, and you can allow comments from your friends or from anyone. When you're ready to put it up on the web click "Publish Post" and there it will be.

A few guidelines to make the most of blogging:

  • Anything you post must be relevant to the Teens for Planet Earth goal of benefiting the environment.
  • Comments to other people's blogs should also be relevant to T4PE (and the original blog post or other comments).
  • Be considerate of other posters' feelings when you comment. T4PE does not feed trolls.
  • Remember that if you set "Everyone" under "Who may view this post?" anyone can and will read it. Don't say anything you wouldn't want total strangers to know.
  • You are posting as an individual, not as a representative of an organization.
  • Don’t try to sell anything! Seriously. This is a not-for-profit site, 'kay?
  • Copyright protections extend to any information posted to this blog, including video, audio, and links.
  • Any posts that are deemed offensive to Teens for Planet Earth or its individual members will be removed without notice.

Be yourself, have fun and get the conversation started!

"Hi Divyanshu, I love red pandas, and I'm glad you seem to like them too. They are decreasing in number, which is why conservation organizations need to work to protect them and their habitat. Thanks for spreading the word!"
