Local farming practices in Mbeya include cultivating crops along river banks, which lead to increased soil erosion and then flooding, which damages crops, homes, and roads. This team collected various items such as pieces of wood, stones, and rope, and used them to reduce erosion along a gully. This benefited the local farmers because fertile soil was not washing away. In addition, the team educated the community about the situation.
