Event Description

Show off your artistic side! Create a piece which represents your vision of the rainforest and the need for rainforest conservation.

12 Grand Prize winners will be featured in the 2012 Rainforest Foundation wall calendar!

Winners and their works will also be featured on the Rainforest Foundation website and promotional materials. Plus, winners will receive a wonderful assortment of art supplies.


Who is eligible to enter?

Young people in grades K-12.


How do I enter?

Submit one work of art (drawing, painting or photography, max size 8 x 10) which represents your vision of the rainforest and the need for rainforest conservation.

 


How will we choose winners?

 

Eight finalists will be chosen in each of three categories: grades K-5, 6-9, and 10-12. These finalists will be selected by Rainforest Foundation staff, Board and select Volunteers based upon the following criteria:
 
· Artistic merit (50%)


· Theme communication: how well the artist expressed the theme of the need for rainforest protection. (50%)
 
The 24 finalists will be featured on the Rainforest Foundation website and Facebook page and the 12 winners will then be chosen through an online public vote.

Please be sure to download and include a completed entry form with your work of art.

There is a $5.00 entry fee per artist.Your entry fee will go toward securing land rights for indigenous peoples in Panama, an important part of Rainforest Foundation programming in 2011. Through your fee, you will help protect one acre of rainforest!

Tree felling in Allahabad,India

This is for the Indian Govt. and to the Indian forestry Deparment.,...In 2012-13,about HUNDREDS of trees were cut-down for construction in Allahabad,U.P for the kumbh fair.I want to ask you, where are the trees that should be planted in return according to the policy of Reforestation.And where was the forest department when they were being cut.See More
